The Two Fatal Drawbacks Of Spc Flooring That You Must Know
Apr. 26, 2024
There are two fatal drawbacks of SPC flooring that you need to know. If you don't avoid these, the wood grain appearance of your SPC flooring will become unattractive, discolored, and its service life will be shortened. The two drawbacks are:
1. SPC flooring is afraid of constant exposure to the sun.
2. SPC flooring is also afraid of being constantly drenched in rain.
If you expose SPC flooring to sunlight for a prolonged period, the UV coating function of the surface layer will weaken. This can cause the floor to quickly discolor, or the color of the floor to become uneven. In severe cases, the flooring may even curl up. Even if the waterproof function of the SPC floor is good, rainwater may contain acid. This can damage the floor, as no material can withstand the combined effects of sun and water.
Therefore, it is crucial that SPC flooring is never installed outdoors. If there is sunlight around the window, it should still be okay as long as it is installed indoors and not directly exposed to sunlight. All of our SPC surfaces come equipped with anti-UV properties. This means that if the flooring is indoors and exposed to the sun, it will not easily fade, and the material will not be compromised.
To summarize, it is not recommended to install SPC flooring outdoors.
